The meaning of this parable is that we will always sin. Us humans will never be perfect. But God still loves us. No matter what we do to anger him. The youngest son in this story asks his father for his inheritance of the family fortune. Then he leaves into the city. After a week or so, he spends all his money. The son works at a pigsty and has to eat the pigs food. He thinks to himself "I will return to my father. But not as his son. As a lowlife servant." He starts the long journey home. When he gets home, he is welcomed by his father. The son explains his situation. The father forgives him and asks one of his servants to slay the fattest goat and bring the son a robe and a ring. The family partied all night. When the oldest son got home, he was shocked. He had worked so hard while the youngest son left. And his father still throws him a party. He was furious. But the father explained everything. They all partied and enjoyed themselves. His son was home.
